To graduate as a Psychology Major at Hunter, at least half of your major and half of your minor credits must have been taken at Hunter. Courses taken at any other school, e.g., on permit, are considered to be transferred courses.

Students whose career goals include professional work in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling should take either PSYCH 201 (Independent Study), PSYCH 295 (Peer Advising), PSYCH 306/307 (Seminar in Psychological Services), PSYCH 395 (Independent Research), or PSYCH 396/398 (Honors in Psychology) as appropriate. Note that each may be used only once to fulfill major requirements.

Psychology Majors are encouraged to gain computer proficiency by taking courses in the Computer Science Department such as CSCI 120 and CSCI 100.
